The main matted training floor and heavy bags at The Mint MMA
Six disciplines — one gym

Everything we teach

Striking, wrestling and grappling under one roof, coached properly and scaled to whoever walks in. Pick the one that sounds like you — or try all of them on one membership.

Where to start

Not sure which one? Start here.

If you want fitness and stress relief, start with Kickboxing & Fitness. If you want self defence that genuinely works, start with jiu-jitsu. If you have never done anything like this before, Boxing & Fitness has no contact at all.

01 — Grappling

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

A self defence system built on grappling and ground fighting. It uses body leverage and technique to take dominant control on the ground, which then opens up striking or submission holds.

  • Gi and no-gi, both taught weekly
  • Affiliated with the Australian Elite Team — number one ranked in Victoria
  • Mon, Wed, Fri 7:00–8:30pm · Tue 8:00pm
Finishing a double-leg takedown in a wrestling class Ages 14+
02 — Grappling

Wrestling

The skill that decides where a fight happens. Takedowns, sprawls, scrambles and top control — the hardest conditioning in the building, and the fastest way to improve your MMA.

  • Live drilling every session, scaled by experience
  • Pairs directly with BJJ and MMA on the same membership
  • Tue and Thu 7:00pm

03 — Mixed

MMA

Classes involve MMA drills and positional sparring — striking, wrestling and grappling stitched into one game instead of three separate hobbies.

  • Controlled positional sparring, never a free-for-all
  • A genuine pathway into amateur competition if you want one
  • Mon 7:00pm · Tue 6:00pm

04 — Striking

Kickboxing & Fitness

Our busiest class, fourteen times a week. A typical session starts with a warm-up drill, then punching combinations, kicks, and punch-kick combinations.

  • Padwork on focus mitts, kick shields and Thai pads
  • Dutch drills with shin guards and large gloves
  • Mornings 10:00am Mon/Wed/Fri · Evenings 6:00pm weekdays

05 — Striking

Boxing & Fitness

Punching drills and combinations, heavy bag work, bodyweight and equipment exercises, and circuit work. Classes have no body contact and involve no sparring — suitable for every skill and fitness level.

  • The easiest door into the gym if you are nervous
  • High-intensity interval work — excellent for fat loss
  • Tue, Thu and Fri 7:00pm

06 — Conditioning

Fitness & Saturday Sparring

Circuits, sprints, bodyweight exercises, kettlebells and whatever else is lying around. Saturday mornings are our open sparring session — hard and uncompromising inside the ring, friendly outside it.

  • Strength and punch conditioning built into striking classes
  • Sparring is optional and always supervised — never a requirement
  • Saturday 10:00am

And a whole program for the kids

Kids jiu-jitsu five times a week and kids kickboxing twice. Discipline, coordination, focus, confidence and social skills — plus the ability to defend themselves without striking.

Before your first session

What actually
happens

01

Turn up early

Get here ten minutes before the class starts. Say hello, we will show you where everything is and who you are training with.

02

Wear shorts and a tee

That is genuinely it. We will lend you gloves, wraps and a gi if the class needs them. Bring a water bottle and a towel.

03

Warm up and drill

Every class starts with a warm-up, then technique broken down slowly. You will be partnered with someone who knows what they are doing.

04

Go at your pace

Nobody is thrown in the deep end. Sparring is always optional and always supervised. Stop whenever you need to.
